vCAC 5.2 Distributed Execution Manager (DEM) Installation

DEM Worker

To install the vCloud Automation Center DEM Worker:

1. Right-click vCAC-Dem-Setup.exe and select Run as Administrator.

2. Click Yes in the User Account Control box.

3. On the Welcome screen click Next.

4. On the End-User License Agreement screen, check “I accept the terms in the License Agreement” and click Next.

5. On the DEM Instance Configuration screen, provide a name for DEM Instance Name, and make a note of this name because you will need it later. And select the Worker Role option and click Next.

6. On the Custom Setup screen, select the Distributed Execution Manager and change the location (destination folder) if necessary and click Next.

7. On the Manager Service and Model Manager Web Service Host Configuration screen, perform the following configuration  
a. For Manager Service Hostname:Port (FQDN), specify the local host FQDN name:Port (for example, vCACServer.VMware.local:443).  
b. For Model Model Manager Web Service Hostname:Port (FQDN), specify the local host FQDN name:Port (for example, vCACServer.VMware.local:443).
c. For Model Manager Username in DOMAIN\USER format type VMware\vCACService  
d. For Password and Retype Password, type the password for the user account.
e. Select Validate Manager Service service endpoint and click Next.

8. On the Service Configuration screen, perform the following configuration:
a. Select Start Distributed Execution Manager Service.
b. For DEM Username in DOMAIN\USER format type VMware\vCACService  
c. For Password and Retype Password, type the password for the user account and click Next.

9.Click Install.

10.On the Completed Setup Wizard screen, click Finish.

DEM Orchestrator

To install the vCloud Automation Center DEM Orchestrator

1. Right-click vCAC-Dem-Setup.exe and select Run as Administrator.

2. Click Yes in the User Account Control box  

3. On the Welcome screen click Next.

4. On the End-User License Agreement screen, check “I accept the terms in the License Agreement” and click Next.

5. On the DEM Instance Configuration screen, provide a name for DEM Instance Name, and make a note of this name because you will need it later. And select the Orchestrator Role option and click Next.

6. On the Custom Setup screen, select the Distributed Execution Manager and change the location (destination folder) if necessary and click Next.

7. On the Manager Service and Model Manager Web Service Host Configuration screen, perform the following configuration:
a. For Manager Service Hostname:Port (FQDN), specify the local host FQDN name:Port (for example, vCACServer.VMware.local:443).

c. For Password and Retype Password, type the password for the user account and click Next.

9.Click Install.

10.On the Completed Setup Wizard screen, click Finish.
