Step 3: Configuring Endpoints

Endpoints are managed resources, clouds, physical infrastructure, etc that are defined in vCAC to allow for provisioning in that resource. To access them, go to vCAC Administrator > Endpoints.

Add a vCenter Endpoint

Steps:
1. Select “New Endpoint“ then chose “vSphere (vCenter) from the dropdown…

Configure a new vSphere Endpoint:

Steps:
1. Enter the endpoint name (remember this name – it MUST be the same as the endpoint name used in the vSphere Agent install in the next section).
2. Enter a description that makes sense
3. Enter the full vCenter SDK URL in the “Address:” field. Example: “https://ezlab-vc01.lab.elzein.com/sdk/”
4. Use the pop-out menu to select the appropriate credential that was previously set up for the vCenter server, then click OK
5. Click OK

Choose vCenter Credentials

Add a vCloud Org Endpoint

Steps:
1. Select “New Endpoint“ then chose “vCloud” from the drop-down…

NOTE: You will need to configure one vCloud Endpoint PER ORG.

 Choose vCloud Director Endpoint

Configure a new vCloud Endpoint

Steps:
1. Enter the endpoint name (since no endpoint agent is configuration for vCloud endpoints, this name doesn’t have to match any agent like vSphere does
2. Enter a description that makes sense
3. Enter the vCloud URL in the “Address:” field. Example: “https://ezlab-vcd01.lab.elzein.com/”
4. Use the pop-out menu to select the appropriate credential that was previously set up for the vCenter server, then click OK
5. Enter the vCloud Organization name
6. Click OK

Choose vCloud Director Credentials

Configure additional vCloud Endpoint(s)

Steps:
1. Follow the previous steps to create another vCloud Org Endpoint for all other Organizations managed by vCloud Director
